This is an introduction to Serious- I mean, aside from just being an anthro artist on the internet.

I am a young-adult female member of Homo sapiens seriosus. I may also just be accurately called homo. I can be identified as such by my short mane, distinctive mating call, and tendency towards getting flustered in the presence of pretty women. H. seriosus is a dedicated herbivore most frequently found in the Rocky Mountain range. I can be warded off by cow's milk, litterers, messiness, high-pitched noises, and crickets. Fuck crickets.

I'm addicted to volunteering my time and energy where ever I'm needed. At present, I'm a volunteer for my state Division of Wildlife, and also work with a wildlife rehabilitation center. I have mostly worked with birds like hawks, falcons, owls and vultures so far, but also have a little bit of small mammal, reptile, waterfowl and songbird experience. I'm trained as a wildlife transporter, too. So far my education has been dedicated to psychology, but after a few years of that, I'm thinking it's time that I change my major to focus on my passion for nature and wildlife. I care an awful lot about domestic animals, as well, if the vegetarianism didn't make that obvious. People are often dumping unwanted tropical fish on me, and my kid is a rescued ex-laboratory rabbit named Magellan.

Say hello, Magellan.

To dispel myths and assumptions right away: He is a litter-trained and neutered house rabbit, he lives with me about like a cat would (minus the gift-giving), he is genuinely friendly, affectionate, and people-oriented, and he is frequently jumping up in to my lap, grooming me, attempting to do the same to dogs and/or cats, and has also slept in my bed with me. Unloved, unfixed rabbits living outside in cages who have never seen a vet in their lives are the bane of my existence. If you think rabbits only live three or so years and they don't need the same level of care, dedication and companionship as a dog or cat, I don't think I'll like you.

There are several pictures in existence of me smooshing distressed birds in to my loving bosom, after finding them in trouble. But despite appearances, trust me- I know what I'm doing. I've been saving animals since I was a little girl, starting with pummeling some boys that were tossing baby garter snakes in to a sewer grate, graduating to taking turtles out of road, then to rushing baby birds to wildlife rehabbers, and then to eventually working with them and other wildlife experts myself. My life is animals.

My life is also technology, internet culture, art, science, gardening, and some other things, too- just so you don't get too worried. I live in the most naturally beautiful place in the United States, and it brings out the shutterbug in me. I'm also delighted by weird and absurd things, and I've been a gamer since I was a wee little one. So, hopefully that gives you an idea of typical journal content- talking about videogames, "omfg look at this you guys, wtf is this," posting pictures that I took, rambling about animals, strange youtube videos, and blatherings about my life in general.

Apparently I'm an ISTJ. "ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are "good citizens" who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun" In-fucking-deed. No one fits these things 100%, of course, but I figure it's accurate enough (at least on my bad points) that I may as well link it rather than flounder about how to describe my personality. So, I guess what that means is that I'm not an easy soul that loves everybody and just wants to hang out and chill all the time. I'm busy, man! I got shit to do! This is serious fucking business! Either be helpful or stfu! ...but this online journal will probably see more fun than not, because no one wants to read about me voluntarily staying after two hours late to finish some database cleaning.

So, there you go. I do more than just draw animal-people and horrifying anglerfish hybrids. Who knew.
